Field Guide to Trading Terms

Methodology

How entries are written, sourced and reviewed.

Every entry opens with a definition of 25–40 words, written to stand on its own. Where a term involves a calculation, the entry shows it step by step with stated inputs. Every entry names the terms it is confused with and the single visible sign that tells them apart.

Entries cite the regulator, exchange or platform documentation they rest on. Where a figure varies by jurisdiction or broker, the entry says so rather than quoting one number as universal.
